Únava a vyčerpání jsou běžnou součástí života. Většině z nás stačí pořádně se vyspat, odpočinout si. Ale ne všem. Lidé trpící chronickým únavovým syndromem musí kromě své nemoci bojovat i s nepochopením lékařů a nálepkou lenocha.

V médiích se čím dál častěji mluví o postcovidových symptomech, které alespoň na první pohled (více dat zatím nemáme) připomínají myalgickou encephalomyelitidu (ME) neboli chronický únavový syndrom (CFS). Pozitivní zprávou pro nemocné je to, že při Fakultní nemocnici Hradec Králové vzniklo první odborné postcovidové centrum. Někteří lékaři to ovšem považují za zbytečné. Například podle Hany Roháčové, primářky ve Fakultní nemocnici Bulovka, dlouhým covidem trpí lidé, kteří mají predispozice k psychosomatickým potížím. Pro Hospodářské noviny Roháčová řekla: „Budou je mít léta a budou jimi trpět, protože si budou myslet, že je to po covidu. Stávalo se to i u jiných onemocnění.“ Je mi velice líto všech těchto lidí, které budou lékaři přesvědčovat, že je to „jenom v jejich hlavě“. Případná úzkostlivost těchto pacientů je ve skutečnosti často způsobena právě tím, že jsou svým potížím vydáni napospas, že se jim od zdravotnického systému nedostane opory a informací.



S covidem naštěstí osobní zkušenost nemám. Zato chronickým únavovým syndromem trpím už osm let. Správně diagno­stikován mi byl přede dvěma lety. Před tím jsem navštívila spoustu lékařů a byla jsem vždy odkázána na psychiatra. Duševně jsem se cítila v pořádku. Ale nikdo mi nevěřil.

V roce 2012 jsem přivedla na svět dceru. Byl to přirozený porod, ale trval 31 hodin. Sáhla jsem si na absolutní dno a nedokázala jsem se odrazit. Byla jsem unavená, nemohla jsem spát. Moje okolí přijalo závažnost mého zdravotního stavu až po několika týdnech, kdy se u mě začala spouštět poporodní deprese.
