Der NABU Kreis Emmendingen hat seine Wasseramselkartierung im Landkreis weitestgehend abgeschlossen. Das Ergebnis: Es kommen rund 50 Brutpaare vor, die meisten davon an der Elz. Ein Problem bleibt: An einigen Stellen fehlt es nach wie vor an guten Nistmöglichkeiten. Überwältigt ist er von der Hilfe aus der Bevölkerung bei der Zählung. Die Wasseramsel ist eine Zeigerart. Das bedeutet, sie sagt etwas darüber aus, wie es einem Gewässer geht. Genau aus diesem Grund wollten die Naturschützerinnen und Naturschützer des NABU herausfinden, wie es um die Wasseramsel an Elz, Glotter, Gutach und Co bestellt ist. Sie riefen daher im Januar die Bevölkerung dazu auf, bei der Kartierung der Wasseramsel mitzuhelfen. Über 50 Menschen hätten sich beim NABU gemeldet, 30 seien schlussendlich dabeigeblieben. „Mit so einer großen Bereitschaft mitzumachen, haben wir nicht gerechnet“, bestätigt Sonja Lehmann, Vorsitzende des NABU und ergänzt: „Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle an alle, die sich bei dieser Aktion eingebracht haben.“ Die Menschen waren aufgefordert einmal im Monat an Teilstücken von Flüssen im Kreis entlang zu spazieren, sich auf die Suche nach Wasseramseln machen und sie zu erfassen. Zudem wurden Leute gesucht, die regelmäßig bei Brutplätzen vorbeischauen sollten. Ihre Ergebnisse meldeten sie an den Projektleiter Finn Zenker, der alles zusammenführte und auswertete. Erstes Zwischenergebnis: „Es kommen rund 50 Brutpaare der Wasseramsel im Landkreis vor. Zudem konnten wir etwa 60 Nistkästen speziell für die Wasseramsel finden“, erörtert Zenker.
