信義鄉位於玉山(台灣新高山)山麓。信義鄉土地面積接近台灣彰化縣土地面積，相當廣大。全鄉居民務農者佔9成，所以農業是信義鄉重要產業。而最俱特色之特產就是梅子，其產量不但居台灣之冠(約台灣總產量20%)而且栽培技術亦屬最為先進，所以信義鄉青梅一直被視為優質青梅產地。

台灣歡樂故事好地方信義梅子夢工廠
由信義鄉農會經營，設廠至今都以天然加工的信念，傳統工法加上創新作法。南投縣信義鄉農會梅子夢工廠，以位於信義鄉在地的梅子夢工廠園區為生產基地，藉由園區內的梅子酒莊與加工廠，開發出台灣各種以梅子為主體的在地農特產品。
信義鄉農會酒莊以梅子酒莊為名，2002年5月取得，台灣第一張民間酒莊釀酒執照也使得信義鄉農會產品得以更加豐富與多元，信義鄉農會除了將梅子加工、研發作提升外，更希望能扮演在地產業文化傳承發揚的角色，結合在地生活文化及部落生活的農特產品，盼望能提供消費者更多優質農特產品外，也能感受台灣信義山間熱情、開朗的在地風情。梅子酒莊以台灣第一家說故事酒莊為目標，所開出發出酒製品除傳承信義在地傳統技術與風味外更通過ISO22000的認證，酒類產品的命名，更是以山居居民生活片段與生活故事作為主，如:忘記回家、梅子跳舞、山豬迷路、小米唱歌、長老說話、信義風情等活潑的命名。2008年贊助台灣魏德聖導演的電影-海角七號，更讓梅子夢工廠配合電影開發出的馬拉桑酒，成為知名台灣品牌。
梅子加工廠推出的梅產品也以活潑、快樂的台灣在地文化作取材，加工製程更通過ISO22000的認證，堅持採用信義鄉在地青梅原料，梅子加工、研發更是不斷追求提升，開發出傳統的梅精、梅醋、醃漬梅、酵素等產品。
2010年開始以堅持台灣傳統工藝為目標，開發傳統碳燻烏梅結合梅精產品-烏梅精強湯。
