Cerita tentang antimoni cukup membekas dalam perjalanan saya selama meliput isu lingkungan di Kalimantan. Pulau yang dulu dikenal karena hutan yang lebat dan sumber daya alam melimpah. Bagaimana tidak, liputan yang satu ini, bagi saya cukup menguras tenaga, waktu dan biaya. Bukan mendramatisir. Bisa jadi ini juga bertaruh nyawa. Berurusan dengan oknum-oknum di bisnis tambang tentu bukan hal yang mudah di hadapi. Peristiwa itu terjadi tiga tahun silam. Ketika saya menelusuri aktor-aktor di balik penyelundupan berton-ton antimoni di Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan Barat. Batuan tambang yang memiliki senyawa beracun itu dilarikan ke Malaysia secara ilegal. Semua bermula dari temuan Satuan Tugas Pengamanan Perbatasan yang menangkap sebuah truk pengangkut batuan tambang di sekitar Jalur Inspeksi Patroli Perbatasan (JIPP) di Kecamatan Badau. Ini jalur yang memisahkan Indonesia dan Malaysia. Kabar penangkapan truk berisi batuan tambang antimoni pada November 2018 itu sempat menjadi headline di media lokal. Termasuk di media tempat saya bekerja. Tapi tak lama. Itu berlalu begitu saja. Namun, dari sejumlah orang yang diduga kuat terlibat dalam kasus itu justru tak diusut tuntas. Hanya satu orang yang waktu itu harus mendekam di rutan. Rasanya tak mungkin jika penyelundupan itu dikerjakan sendiri. Apalagi perbatasan antar negara harus dilintasi. Ya, rasa curiga dan penasaran mulai menjangkiti hingga saya ingin menelisik kasus ini agar publik paham banyak praktik ilegal merusak lingkungan di wilayah ini. Tapi saya juga harus tahu diri bahwa luasan pulau ini seringkali menyulitkan. Tak hanya butuh fisik tapi juga mental dan kantong tebal. Beruntung, waktu itu saya mendapat beasiswa peliputan investigasi berbasis data. Ini menjadi “darah segar” untuk menindaklanjuti temuan kasus ini meski tak mendapat dukungan dana dari redaksi. *** Kubangan bekas galian tambang milik PT.
