The UNIX and Linux Forums - Free Tech Support
All Unix, Linux and other Unix-like operating systems are families of computer operating systems derived from the original Unix System from AT&T Bell Laboratories. Today, the largest Unix descendent directly certified as UNIX is macOS by Apple. The original commercial Unix derivatives included HP-UX, AIX and SunOS, to name a few. The diversity and perceived incompatibility between various Unix systems led to the creation of interoperability standards including the Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX). We provide free Linux and UNIX shell scripting, system administration and other programming help.
. This is a list of Unix commands as specified by IEEE Std 1003.1-2008, which is part of the Single UNIX Specification (SUS). These commands can be found on Unix operating systems and most Unix-like operating systems.

Political party in New Zealand. The Mana Movement, formerly known as the Mana Party, is a former political party in New Zealand. The party was led by Hone Harawira who formed it in April 2011 following his resignation from the Māori Party. Harawira won the by-election in Te Tai Tokerau of 25 June 2011 for the Mana Party and retained the seat during the 2011 general election in November.Under a short-term agreement with the Internet Party, a joint Internet Party and Mana Movement contested the 2014 general election with the Mana Movement providing the first, third and fourth list candidates. Despite being funded by online millionaire Kim Dotcom, the Internet Party and Mana Movement failed to win a single seat. Harawira lost his seat to Labour Party candidate Kelvin Davis, and with only 1.42% of the party vote, Internet Mana did not return to parliament.During the 2017 general election, the Mana Movement took 0.1% of the party vote and failed to gain any seats.

Set of ideas and practices adopted by Scientologists. Dianetics (from Greek dia, meaning "through", and nous, meaning "mind") is a set of pseudoscientific ideas and practices regarding the metaphysical relationship between the mind and body created by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard. Dianetics is practiced by followers of Scientology and the Nation of Islam (as of 2010).Dianetics was originally conceived as a branch of psychiatry, which Hubbard would later despise when various psychoanalysts refused his form of psychotherapy. Though it is presented as a form of psychological treatment, Dianetics, and its core concepts including auditing and engrams, have been rejected by psychologists and other scientists from the outset and are unsupported by credible evidence.

The GNU Operating System and the Free Software Movement
Since 1983, developing the free Unix style operating system GNU, so that computer users can have the freedom to share and improve the software they use.
Free software project. The GNU Project ( (listen)) is a free software, mass collaboration project announced by Richard Stallman on September 27, 1983. Its goal is to give computer users freedom and control in their use of their computers and computing devices by collaboratively developing and publishing software that gives everyone the rights to freely run the software, copy and distribute it, study it, and modify it. GNU software grants these rights in its license. In order to ensure that the entire software of a computer grants its users all freedom rights (use, share, study, modify), even the most fundamental and important part, the operating system (including all its numerous utility programs) needed to be free software. According to its manifesto, the founding goal of the project was to build a free operating system, and if possible, "everything useful that normally comes with a Unix system so that one could get along without any software that is not free." Stallman decided to call this operating system GNU (a recursive acronym meaning "GNU's not Unix!"), basing its design on that of Unix, a proprietary operating system.

Rolling release distribution of Linux. Arch Linux () is an independently developed, x86-64 general-purpose Linux distribution that strives to provide the latest stable versions of most software by following a rolling-release model. The default installation is a minimal base system, configured by the user to only add what is purposely required.Pacman, a package manager written specifically for Arch Linux, is used to install, remove and update software packages.Arch Linux uses a rolling release model, meaning there are no "major releases" of completely new versions of the system; a regular system update is all that is needed to obtain the latest Arch software; the installation images released every month by the Arch team are simply up-to-date snapshots of the main system components.Arch Linux has comprehensive documentation, consisting of a community-run wiki known as the ArchWiki.
